wheee i learnt something new today! (which makes me one step further from retardation)
HAHAHA
you know when people go around saying sorbet-sorbet-sorbet and pronouncing it sorbey-sorbey-sorbey when in fact it's supposed to be articulated as sherbet-sherbet-sherbet? well, i've finally figured out what this whole mumbo jumbo is all about!
Sherbet is a frozen sweet made with fruit juice (duh) that originated in the Middle East almost before recorded history (oooh). The term "sherbet" is derived from the Turkish word for "sorbet", şerbat, which in turn comes from Arabic. So basically, sherbet and sorbet are precisely the same thing! rargh so confusing. PLUS looking at how it was originally tells us that the 'sorbey' way of saying it is wrong Wrong WRONG!
so anyway boooo to all those people who've been making the same mistake over and over and over again without realising AND insisting that they're right (bleagh!) and yay to everyone (including the aforementioned) now that we know what it should be.
or, who knows? i could be the last to have found out.
or am i?
we'll see.
hee hee.
in the meantime while we chew on the idea, let us also simultaneously drrooooool over these fantastic pictures!!! :D
it's RASPBERRY SHERBET/SORBET, BABY! reminds me of the trip to france. swoooons.
